Opening times and Admission prices

We usually open for the February half term, followed by our main season from March, when we are open Thursday to Sunday. During the summer holidays, we are generally open every day before returning to reduced opening days in September.

We normally close for the season in November, depending on visitor numbers.

Our opening hours remain the same on all open days: 10:00am to 4:00pm, with last admission at 3:00pm.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult - with a maximum
of 3 children per adult.

Due to the historic nature of the building, there is no lift to the first floor. However, the ground floor is wheelchair accessible throughout. 

Dogs on leads are most welcome.

How To Find Us

We are located in Castletown on the Isle of Portland, just a short distance from the entrance to Portland Port and around the corner from Portland Castle, owned and operated by English Heritage. Beside the castle is a bus stop and large carpark for use of D-Day Museum visitors.
